Market Trends in Softwood Moulding
and Plywood Exports from Brazil

Free with RSVP day before presentation or $7 museum admission at the door
RSVP to: Angie DiSalvo adisalvo@worldforestry.org 503-488-2137

Brazil, besides being the world’s largest exporter of softwood plywood and fencing, is also the second largest exporter of moulding. A large percentage of Brazilian exports
are sent to the United States, which is the world's largest wood importer. Mariane Bueno de Camargo spent one year examining exports from Brazil to the US and interviewing traders, distributors, and other market players. Her study examines the main challenges for Brazilian exports to the US in the past 10 years, as well as identifying who the big industry players are and how composite products are affecting solid lineal moulding, finger joint moulding, and plywood. She will share the results of her interviews, as well as thoughts on her American experience.
