Wednesday, July 16: Mount St. Helens: A Tale of Two Forests

  • Investigating disturbance and recovery in this world famous volcanic landscape

 

Thursday, July 17: Linking Research, Education, and the Passion for Teaching

  • New perspectives from the canopy crane and Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area

Friday, July 18: The Forest Will Provide: Defining Sustainability

  • Lessons from the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and the Mount Hood National Forest

           

Saturday, July 19: Urban and Community Forest Adventure

  • Scouting the urban forest from the heart of the city with a visit to the award-winning World Forestry Center Discovery Museum.

                                                                       

Sunday, July 20: Travel Day or Optional Portland Tour Day

 

Capturing Best Practices

Throughout the course, participants will utilize various methods to capture dialogue and exchange with others, including work in Best Practices Teams, personal IEI Journals, reporting, informal discussions, and pre-mid-post benchmarking.
