About Us

COVID-19 Closure

To support Oregon’s effort to contain the spread of COVID-19, World Forestry Center has temporarily closed all public offerings and programs – including our Discovery Museum, Washington Park Campus, and Magness Memorial Tree Farm.

Founded in 1966, World Forestry Center is a nonprofit dedicated to creating and inspiring champions of sustainable forestry.

We are focused on shaping a society that values and takes action to support the economic, ecological, and social values of forests. We know that a sustainable forestry future calls for careful choices and collaborations. It requires that key stakeholders have important conversations about complex issues. It demands that people imagine and invest in what is possible.

Our History

The roots of World Forestry Center date back to the 1905 Lewis and Clark Exposition.

Our Team

Our organization is only as strong as our employees and volunteer Board of Directors.
